PostSubject: Why CM Punk threatened to quit   Fri May 03, 2013 10:44 am

As we reported on earlier here on the website, CM Punk had a major blow-out backstage with Vince McMahon to the point where Punk had threatened to quit. New details have emerged in regards to this matter. According to WWE sources, CM Punk was upset about constantly being lied too about his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29. Although Punk didn’t understand the logic of going under, he was fine with it. Conversely, he was told up until the event that the creative plans were still up in the air.

When Punk found out the outcome all along was for The Undertaker to go over and extend the streak to 21-0, Punk was irate and felt that Vince McMahon and Triple H were betraying him by lying to him. This ultimately led to Punk stating that the company can eat the remainder of his contract and that he was finished. This obviously caught Vince McMahon’s attention, and he finally decided to sit down with Punk to iron things out. After repeatedly asking Vince why he had to threaten to quit the company to finally get attention, it’s being said that Punk went all out and vented frustrations about guys like Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro and Kofi Kingston working hard while the company is too busy with ‘hot shot booking’ and storylines to please their own egos.

During the sit down between Punk and McMahon, things took yet another turn for the worse when Punk requested time off to heal up. Although Vince tried to talk Punk into staying around a bit longer for his next program, in the end it was agreed upon that Punk would take some time off to heal up.

In correlation to this matter, there was a conference call a few weeks ago between Punk, Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman and the writers to further discuss Punk’s future, where numerous ideas were pitched. It’s also said the ideas pitched ultimately hinge on Punk’s health and Vince’s desire. Whether or not they choose to go with any of the ideas remain to be seen as plans can and most likely will change numerous times between now and Punk’s expected return.

Sometimes I get the feeling that CM Punk is an undercover agent for ROH and will one day, after creating his global legacy, show up at a ROH event, creating the biggest buzz in wrestling in years. He is getting to the kind of status that would allow him to soley boost a rival company into stardom.

Then again he might just be a whiney bitch Twisted Evil

Sexton maybe a little of both.

TNA will be watching closely I suspect, straight into a feud with Hardy.

However, it's good to see (if true) someone standing up for the excellent workers stuck in mid card.

but this is WWE. Since when has being an excellent worker meant that you belong in the main event?

Chris Benoit was awesome in-ring, easily as good as Punk, Cesaro, or anyone. He had no charisma, and bombed as a world champ. Guys like Tyson Kidd would hold their own too, but he also has no charisma. Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas

Bryan's had a run as world champ, Vince clearly doesn't feel he did enough in the ratings to justify another run.

Kofi's moveset makes him look like a gymnast, rather than a legit tough guy. Same reason thay John Morrison never made it. As much as I like Kofi, he needs to change about 90% of his moveset, the Boom Drop just has to go.

The trouble with Bryan was he got so over as a heel it ruined his character. For a while it was a touch of genius, first generating heat by being so over the top with his constant celebration of his title win. But as soon as people started to love it and chant along, it risked his status. He showed however the ability to stave off the decline, simply by changing the chant to NO. It lead to good fan interaction and the ability to remain heel. WWE obviously wanted to capitalise and make him marketable to the kids, because of that success. Which is why i'm sure the whole Kane stuff started. King and Cole reall yhelped to kill his credibility calling him goat face ever since Kane said it. Even though they have moved away from that to and fro with Kane. But kids loved it, so...

(a similar small scale thing happened with fandango too. As soon as King and Cole started pushing "fandangoing" it rendered the whole thing lame and cringey) It all boils down to WWE creative and how they should stop trying to oversell an initial good idea, and to let it grow naturally.

Quote :
As reported earlier, CM Punk was added to several listings throughout the summer for upcoming WWE events and then removed. According to a report by PWInsider, Punk was never supposed to be advertised in the first place.

Punk's name was added in error, partially because he was originally slated for those dates before he injured his knees in his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29.

As of this writing, there is no timetable set for Punk's return to WWE television and many believe that Punk might not return until late summer, at the earliest.

As far as WWE and CM Punk goes, there is believed to be very little communication between both parties since the angle where he walked out. There has been no discussion about his return storyline either

I think part of that is to show Punk that he's not the superstar he thinks he is.

Ratings didn't go through the roof during his WWE reign, a lot of people get put off by his worked-shoot promo's, and he seems to have an ego that is a lot bigger than his talent. Don't get me wrong, he's good, but he's not that good.

Anyone else thinking that John Cena having an injury is being used as a messege to other people such as Punk and The Rock? They are making it quite obvious that he is hurt, but still willing to work every week inside and out of the ring.

can't see it being a message to Rock, but to Punk, definitely. I think Vince knows that Rock has movie commitments, and he couldn;t risk anything happening to damage that hernia any further.

As for Punk, he seems to be happiest when he's pissed off, if that makes sense. If Vince and WWE just did everything he demanded, he'd have nothing to complain about.
