Wrestling characters are getting Smarky as fuck, and it's actually making for tv gold. It's cheap and easy, but fantastic at the same time.

Don't know if anyone has taken any notice, but a few highlights would be

Chris Jericho: he's working his ass off to get the indie guys' over with the WWE universe by acting like a pre pubescent kid in school, and producing some of his best work in years. Stupid idiot is becoming the number one hot phrase with audiences. And his exchanges with Owens and others have been golden

yeah I won a MITB.
Oh where was that?
Apple...
??????

Dolph Ziggler: stuck in a rut? Hell yes. Being a tool? Definitely. Is that actually the best character he's had. Yep

During a commentary spot about Baron Corbin, he absolutely went balls out Smarky. Making out Corbin was some unbeatable prodigy in the most sarcastic voice he could muster. Corbin slammed a guy in to the ring apron and Dolph responded 'Oh, wow! Mauro that was insane, ive never seen anybody do anything like that before, wow this guy. He's unstoppable.' and he just kept praising every move like he was truly amazed at his talent, but being sarcy as fuck. Imagine HBK selling Hogan's moves, but with words in a commentary spot.

Then we have Kevin Owens, king Smark. He just shoots down everyone who has a weak character or is perceived as weaker in ring. And he does it to their face on live tv. And that is his role now, and the base for eventually proving himself right in the long run. And because he targets everyone, face and heel, he will have a meteoric rise that will be accepted by the universe over the next few years and be entertaining all the way.

Potential catchphrase: I'm Kevin Owens, sports entertainer. *grin*

Lastly, the most smark tastic, mark tastic, smark winding up, mark winding up, smark pleasing, mark (maybe not pleasing*) feud in history. The Club (haha) versus John Cena

Summed up in a few words by Aj and Karl Anderson
Aj "and what are you going to do at Christmas"
Anderson "well AJ, I'm going to wrap some presents... With my hot asain wife (pause for effect) Then beat up John Cena"

I fully believe WWE has now grasped how to deal with the Smark era. Give them what they want and wind them the fuck up at the same time, so no one knows if they like it or not, and everyone will still watch and still complain, but WWE has found a way to side one half of it's fan base with one half of it's roster and keep the other half with the others. so no matter what everyone is both happy and sad through the year, and we'll get to see some fantastic rivalries and match Ups along the way, which is all that really matters. Not who is getting the big push or held down, or who is really really good at winning all the time so shut up he's the bestest ever. Own it.

*marks may not get the final pay off win because what do the club (haha) do when the odds are even, and what will they always do to make sure they beat up John Cena? Add more members. And that would be the perfect way to run out that feud, Cena never gets the win, and everyone is both happy and annoyed and most importantly, right about whoever they support being better. And Smarks can still use the catchphrase 'but there wasn't a clean win!!!' Hey, yo.
